What makers use it for

• Minyak angin, minyak urut and minyak panas
• Balm and ointment bases
• Cooling gels, sprays and roll-ons
• Lip balm, soap, shampoo and bath products

Working with it

• Dissolves in alcohol and oils, not in water. Add it to the oil phase of your formula.
• Melts at about 42–44°C. In a balm, stir it in once the base has cooled to about 50°C so less of it evaporates.
• A little goes a long way. The right amount depends on your formula and on the rules for your finished product.

Safety and storage

• A raw material for making products. Do not eat it or put it on skin undiluted.
• The vapour is strong. Keep it away from your eyes and wash your hands after handling.
• Keep the pack tightly closed. Menthol slowly evaporates, and the crystals can clump or melt in heat.
• Store below 30°C, out of sunlight and out of reach of children.

If you sell minyak angin, balm or anything else made with this menthol, registering or notifying the finished product with NPRA is the maker's responsibility. We supply the raw material only.
